OK with Imperfect was founded in 2018 by Carisa Hatfield, a Baltimore-based lawyer and former fashion blogger with a mission of telling stories. She found that the posts that brought her the most joy (and the ones that were the most successful) weren’t about the clothes she was wearing or her makeup; but rather, the personal stories she shared about herself that had nothing to do with fashion at all.
A storyteller since childhood (there was that one riveting story about a portal in time located in a dead birch tree), Carisa wanted to create a venue based in community. Specifically, Carisa wanted to provide a platform for female-identifying individuals to share their stories about life, love, and being female in an ever-changing world with the hope of finding solidarity and safety with one another.
